Whether you are looking for the vibrant colors of “leaf peeping” season or a snow-covered wonderland for your family holiday photos, The Inn at Embden Pond offers a nostalgic, Hallmark-worthy backdrop. This oversized, cozy ranch is a family-oriented sanctuary nestled directly on the shores of Embden Pond—Maine’s cleanest lake.

From ice fishing and snowmobiling in the winter to private dock swimming and ATV trail access in the summer, this is the ultimate four-season retreat.

The space

Our single-level vaulted ranch is designed for large families and groups who want to reconnect. The interior features an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area—perfect for large holiday meals or cozying up by the (decorative) hearth.

Sleeping Arrangements

Our rooms are named after iconic Sugarloaf trails to get you in the mountain spirit:

• King’s Landing: Twin-over-full bunks + twin trundle (open ceiling).

• Hayburner: Luxurious King bed.

• White Nitro: Comfortable Queen bed.

• Bubblecuffer: The “Kids’ HQ” with 5 twin beds (bunks and a captain’s bed).

• Narrow Gauge & Winter’s Way: A flexible suite featuring twin bunks and a King bed, separated by a heavy-duty privacy curtain.

• For the little ones: 1 Pack-and-Play (with sheet) and a booster high chair are available.

Amenities & Tech

• Stay Connected: Free high-speed WiFi and Smart TVs in every room (bring your login for streaming).

• The Kitchen: Fully applianced with a dishwasher, microwave, griddle, and waffle maker. We provide a basic starter selection of K-cups.

• The Lake Life: Private beach chairs, a private dock, and a swim platform (seasonal).

The Neighborhood & Activities

Embden Pond covers 1,542 acres of crystal-clear water. We are just 4 minutes from the public boat launch and 10–15 minutes from the charming towns of Madison and Skowhegan.

• Adventure: Hit the ATV and snowmobile trails directly from the property.

• Supplies: Grab essentials at Hannaford (Skowhegan) or visit Vicniere’s Elm St Market for a small-town feel. For fresh live lobster and local spirits, the Agency Liquor Store in Solon is a must.

• Support Local: If you need firewood for the outdoor pit, please visit the retired Army Veteran just 5 minutes away on Wentworth Rd—he sells camp wood year-round!

Important Guest Policies

To maintain the “Christmas Movie” magic for all our guests, we have strict house rules. Please read the full house manual before booking.

• Strict Prohibitions: NO pets, NO smoking, NO parties, and NO EV charging on-site.

• Guest Occupancy: You must disclose the exact number of guests. Additional guests will result in immediate eviction without refund or a $50/person per night fee.

• Decorative Features Only: Due to age and insurance, the indoor fireplace and woodstove are strictly decorative. Please do not attempt to light fires inside.

• Trash & Cleanup: Maine’s beauty stays beautiful when we all help. All trash must be brought to the onsite dumpsters. We encourage you to donate your bottles/cans to the Community Center nearby to support lake maintenance.

• Safety: Outdoor cameras are on-site for security but are turned off once guests arrive (unless neighborhood complaints occur). Use of the lake and “toys” (ATVs/sleds) is at your own risk.

Check-out Requirements:

• Remove all bedding/towels and place them in the provided hampers.

• Ensure all dishes are cleaned and returned to their original spots.

• Leave the home with the same love and care you found it with!
